What? Leiden University believes it is important that staff and students feel welcome and at home in the academic community. Only then can everyone work to their full capacity and get the best out of themselves. The question is: Are we on the right path? And how can we together build an academic community in which diversity and inclusiveness are safeguarded? This year’s symposium has two keynote speakers: Dr Jan Terlouw (former politician and writer) and Dr Barbara Love (Assistant Professor Emeritus, University of Massachusetts). They will address the question of why it is so important to create an inclusive academic community, and what such a community should look like.
