The bar committee establishes and will maintain the Akbar, a society (barsociëteit) under the umbrella of Fortuna. The Akbar is located in the common room of student housing De Klok and will be opened a few days a week for all LUC students and their guests. By opening this bar, we hope to increase social cohesion among LUC students and to establish a financial source for activities organized by Fortuna. This financial source will be built on the profit made by the bar.
The bar committee has a board of five people. Chairman is Lars Been; Secretary is Danny Damen; Treasurer is Boudewijn Vijfhuizen; Inventory Manager is XiaoZhen Hu;
Catering Manager is Laura Dykstra. Besides of the board, there is an organization of bartenders and supervisors of the bar. These people voluntarily work for The Akbar Society.
