The role of our Housing Committee ranges from: maintaining regular contact with the owners of our respective student buildings, to helping develop LUC’s future and final student building at the Anna van Buren square (programmed due by 2013), and promoting a stronger sense of community for every student at our home in LUC.
Valuing the importance of student representation; we aim to canalizing student’s complaints, voice their opinions and express their ideas.
The relevance of representation in this given structure includes efficiency and practicality. Representatives of Student Buildings allow for direct communication between the students living in a particular building and their assigned managers, whose tasks are predominantly logistical and administrative. It is through the Head of Committee that coordination and communication are eased; that between both student housing buildings (aiming to facilitate access for all students to both buildings and their facilities) and between the Housing Committee and LUC’s Fortuna Board (as the Head of Committee is also a general member of the board) and staff.
